The Palm Beach to Shelly swim is an open water swimming event in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, New South Wales, Australia. The swim was set up to cater for the various channel swims around the world. The swim starts from Palm Beach and finishes at North Head which is diagonally opposite Shelly Beach comprising of a 27km swim. The 27km ultra-marathon swim is open to qualified solo swimmers, duos, and teams of four.. This year there will also be a 10km swim as part of the course open to solos and duos. The 10 km swimmers will start 1km offshore opposite Narabeen SLSC (it will be a boat start). 10 km swimmers will start between 10:30 and 11:00 to coincide with the 27km swimmers.

There are 100 entrants allowed and the 27km marathon swimmers will have priority entry.

Entry fee is $300 (non refundable but can be transferred to the next event)

The Palm Beach to Shelly Beach 27km is one of the official Australian Triple Crown swims:

The aim is to attract world-class, elite swimmers to compete in the Palm to Shelly Beach as part of the world calendar for marathon swimming. Also, to assist swimmers preparing for the Ocean’s seven channel swims.

Participant’s registration accepted up to four weeks prior to the event. NO LATE ENTRIES.

In line with Ocean 7 swims. The Palm beach to shelly swim will be a water start from your boat. This event will not start from the beach. Boats will be 1km offshore from Palm beach and swimmers will start in the water as co-ordinated by the swim director. The swimmers will finish in the water at North Head and must get back on their boat.

Finish line

Swim finish in the water level at Shelly Beach or Blue Fish Point or Manly North Head depending on conditions. Swim offical to confirm the swimmer’s finish.
