REGISTRATION

THE SWIM

The swim is a shore start from Little Manly Beach. You will have to swim across Sydney harbour. You will swim across Botany Bay, if large shipping vessels are either entering or leaving the port; then your boat skipper will be instructed by the Race Director to proceed or hold and the swimmer tread water till approval is given to proceed crossing (similar to Manhattan swim). The third harbour to swim across is Port Hacking where swimmers will finish at Bundeena Beach. This swim is for highly experienced ocean swimmers and you may finish at night . Swimmers require boat support, swim support and observer on the boat and support craft is an optional escort.

The aim is to attract world-class, elite swimmers to compete in the Little Manly Beach to Bundeena Beach as part of the world calendar for marathon swimming. Solos swimmers will be required to have a proven track record of marathon swims longer than 20km and there will only be 20 places available. Swimmers’ minimum speed will be expected to be at 3km per hour. There will be check points to ensure swimmers can meet the cut off times.

A detailed swim package will be sent to the swimmers interested in entering.

A detailed skipper package will be sent to the skippers for information on boat support.
